BRIAR Racing

Former CEO Mike Good has always been a big fan of racing. He enjoys feeling the power, the speed, and the rush of the race. Mike caught the racing bug and truly brought it to life when his friends gifted him with the Richard Petty Driving Experience. A Ford fan, he ordered a car, bought a Ford motor, and set up shop at the Port of Sanford. What was initially meant to be a race shop is now Briar Racing, which houses its own state-of-the-art racing facility. Known for having top-running cars, Briar Racing is now an unrivaled team in the Super Late Model Series division.

In 1999, at the age of 14, Bobby Lee Good started his racing career in the Sportsman division. After having continued success, Bobby eventually worked his way up into the Super Late Model division with his father. Leading into his senior season of football, Bobby put racing to the side to focus on his childhood dream of being a college athlete. He was awarded a full scholarship to play football at East Carolina University, and earned a contract to play with the Detroit Lions in 2007. A shoulder injury cut his NFL career short and he quickly came home to start his career. In 2008, Bobby became the house driver for Briar Racing and continues to enjoy the competitive nature and fulfillment that racing brings to him.

If you are a racing fan, keep an eye out for the Briar Racing Super Late Model at all your local tracks. Boogity, boogity, boogity — let’s go racing!
